Description

Happy Atoms is the physical and digital teaching tool that lets you discover the world of molecules in an intuitive, hands-on way! This interactive learning tool combines a digital app with a physical modeling set that lets students from 4th grade through college approach chemistry from a different angle.

Happy Atoms requires the use of the Happy Atoms modeling set for full play. The sets are available at www.happyatoms.com and at many educational retailers!

Chemistry is an incredibly important subject that many students never fully grasp. Knowledge of chemistry is necessary to solve many real-world problems, but the way chemistry is taught now often fails to capture students’ imaginations, discouraging experimentation and discovery.

Happy Atoms aims to change that by offering a chemistry learning experience that sets itself apart.

* See the difference between elements
* Feel the forces that bond them together
* Experiment with ways to combine them
* Discover the relationships between molecular structure and properties

SirWen1 ,

Great app. Needs audio for name’s of molecules

My kid loves the app and enjoys creating bonds and finding out what his creation makes. We can tell a lot of hard work went into making this app and we really appreciate that hard work. One area that it is lacking is an audio recording of how to pronounce the molecules. Please don’t use Siri, but actual voice actors or scientists that can pronounce them correctly.

There are some problems

It’s an interesting app, but I have some problems with it.

Basically, the circles to select atoms with are extremely big when it’s a large molecule. I am unable to select all of the molecules. I’ve had to restart my picture all over again more than 4 times because of this, and in the end, it doesn’t get the right molecule, and even when I press “not what you built?” It doesn’t show what i made.

My next problem: Harper. He appears all the time, it’s super annoying. There should be a “disable tutorials” button in the settings.

Another problem is the “synthesize” button. It’s place is.. odd, I guess you could say. The problem I have with it is that sometimes it gets the wrong molecule, and I have to retake the picture because I can’t see the other selection options.

Pretty decent

It’s pretty decent nevertheless. The only thing I don’t like about it is that there are molecules that are locked. But anyways, pretty decent app.
