Highly Recommended
I've been using this app for a long time now and really like the way it has brought me increasing and useful monitoring of health activities 24/7. The linking to sleep and heart rate are especially good - also step count, automatic run detection and voice coaching. I love the encouragement and sharing with others self-monitoring in countries all round the world - who become good friends. With groups and intercontinental challenges etc the ‘global village’ becomes a reality, and it’s very educational too! I wouldn’t want to be without this app! I mention the it to others when I can, especially those who wonder how on earth they can even start to get healthier!
Needs improvement
I have been using this app for a week now. Its great with counting calouries that I consume. Makes me really conscious about what I eat. However, few downsides. Ingredients that I use in recipes dont get saved into my database, I have to search them every time.
The only way to add the ingredient is to add it to a meal. But if I only want to add it but not to actually eat it at the time, I have to remove it from breakfast or lunch, and it gets removed from database. Quite frustrating it is.
Also, the app is connected to my Health app that in return is connected to my Apple watch. But I still dont get readings on my workout, only the steps. Although, even steps are not correctly recorded, at least half of them are missing🧐
Otherwise fairly happy with it.
Excellent app but very buggy current version
I have used and loved Argus since October 2014, and have long paid for the premium version. One of the app’s best features is Equivalent Active Minutes, which converts all the activities monitored — in my case, walking and running — into metabolically equivalent minutes, with more intense activities translating to more EAMs than the same amount of time spent doing a less intense activity. Sadly, the last few months, this feature has been misfiring, with the app not accurately recording the EAMs for walking. The developers need to fix this pronto.
