What’s New
Version 2.7.0
Now, in fully 3D worlds, you can move around the space! With new hand-tracking gestures you can go up, down, left, right with one hand and rotate with the other. Worlds that are 360 images, such as uploaded or AI generated places, still support rotating the world. And we remember where you were in a place too.
Ratings and Reviews
What Vision was made for
Hands-down my favourite Vision app, and the nearest thing yet to a killer app for VisionOS. The artist-made Places are excellent, but the real magic is in rolling your own 360˚ immersive environments with AI prompts, in what is easily the best front end so far to Blockade's amazing Skybox engine and its 40 brilliantly crafted 8k styles. (Skybox's own app is also wonderful, but you can't save or work in it.) The built-in browser and rich text editor are perfectly workable in, and the adjustable cutout for your keyboard is a godsend if you’re not quite a peek-free touch typist – though not all web apps currently play nicely with the browser (Craft documents can be viewed but not edited, for example), so it's worth testing any you rely on during the trial period if this is likely to be an issue. The invaluable rotation function has been significanty enhanced in this version, and for XCode nerds the app also correctly supports Mac Virtual Desktop as a Developer option, something that can be rather hit & miss in other immersive apps. My one minor gripe is that the browser, typically for VisionOS, is bookmark-based and I haven't found a way to edit, reorder, or delete bookmarks, which can quickly pile up. But if you spent your teens yearning to be able to live in a Jack Vance novel, here is your own personal Ullward's Retreat.
