Very helpful tool, but doesn’t link perfectly

Initial set up was problematic, but once through that challenge it works great for messages and notifications. Calls has never connected. Annoyingly, the standard error screen states that it can’t connect to me phone (and to reset Phone Link), even though it is connected to my phone. Doesn’t stop it being a very helpful tool and it runs quietly in the background without disproportionately consuming resources or battery a s reconnects quickly whenever I restart my PC.

Developer Response ,

Thank you for your feedback. Please make sure you have updated both Phone Link and Link To Windows to the latest versions and that you have turned on content sync on your iPhone. You can do that by going to Settings > Bluetooth on your mobile device then click on the information icon by your PC name which will open up the settings menu where you can enable messages and contacts syncing. If your issues are not resolved, please submit feedback from your PC with logs via https://aka.ms/phonelinkfeedback so we can investigate.

Poor and incompatible with teams

I upgraded to windows 11 just to use phone link with my iPhone 15. Unfortunately it’s awful. A few people have tried this in my company and I have it on my home workstation and office laptop and the experience is identical (consistently poor). On reboot it regularly needs to be setup again. Oddly Microsoft did not consider those people who use Teams! When you receive a teams call which rings my desktop and mobile, because it rings my mobile the phone link shows a pop up over the Teams answer pop up. If you reject the phone link pop up it cancels the call, if you accept it you’ve just answered the teams call on your mobile. It also sent my cpu to 100% and I had to kill ask. In summary it’s absolutely awful. I’ve changed settings to stop it running on reboot, but it still runs. I am somewhat surprised just how bad it is!!! I’d avoid until a lot more work has been done as it provides zero value.

Really buggy

When it actually works it does so quite well, but most of the time the connection has been really unstable. The Phone Link app on PC randomly crashes out of nowhere (message pops up saying Microsoft Phone Link has stopped working), battery status is sometimes unavailable, app names in the notifications don’t show up properly and worst of all, despite the app saying connected it also says “we weren’t able to connect to your phone”, and the only way to fix this is to unpair and pair again. And sometimes that doesn’t even work, since the app will simply say “we couldn’t connect to your phone, please reset Phone Link”. Phone Link has potential but it’s really buggy in its current state. Please fix these issues.
