Great service but
It isn’t without issues. Been watching a series since launch. Currently i am on monthly for now. I wanted to try the service properly and seven days doesn’t really cut it. So will stay on monthly for now until improvements are made before i commit to a yearly sub.
1. I’m deaf and visually impaired. Resizing fonts if subtitles/closed captions isn’t possible, so i find myself sitting uncomfortably to watch my fav shows/movies. So i would like that feature implemented in a future update. Also as i have stated i am deaf you have to manually set the subtitles each time a show plays. This is a bit of a faff, and would like to see an option to switch subtitles/closed captions set to on permanently.
2. I am currently watching a series. Now when i have had enough for the night i turn it off, and when i want to restart the app doesn’t give me the function to pick up where i left off. I have to manually find the series, then figure out where i am at! Again a bit of a faff. And seriously 7 days doesn’t cut it. And i found out you’re giving UK game pass users a free 30 days trial. I was gutted 🙈🙈🙈 i signed up wayy too early 🙈🙈🙈 But like i say, it is a good service and i am enjoying it, just not ready to commit £70 a year until improvements are made in the next couple of months.

Lied to by developer
So I posted a review that criticised this service for not showing the latest episodes of series and not sowing them in 4K and HDR and without Atmos sound. The developers said it was because of licensing issues, however if you take the two flagship programs then this is not the case. Halo and Star Trek strange new worlds are both owned by paramount, so the decision to not show them in 4K was deliberate, the lack of HDR was deliberate, the lack of Atmos was deliberate and not showing the latest episodes is also deliberate. You charge the same price as in the US and give us a far inferior service and you have no excuses. Nexflix started showing 4K content 8 years ago and you are charging a premium price for a service with only HD quality, it’s a joke and whoever came up with this plan to give us a crappy version should be ashamed and is responsible for a lot of people not signing up. These days people are used to Netflix and Disney with excellent quality programs with 4K, HDR, Dolby Vision and Atmos sound so your “service” is a pale imitation. You seriously need to up your game, release the latest episodes of series your holding back and show them in the quality that’s available in the US, do this and you will instantly get more subscribers. I like the programs that paramount produce but I will not be ripped off by them with an inferior service especially at this time where every penny counts. You need to up your game, and you need to do it now.

Fine… when it works
I wish I had the option to use this service via any other app, the film and tv stock is great… but the app is distinctly lacking. Been using this app for a couple of days and it’s ability to freeze on start up is already reaffirming my intention to only use it for a month to catch up and binge film and series over Christmas and then cancel contract. I have had to add a second profile to use as a boot switch to avoid the very frequent post profile selection freeze. It doesn’t work all the time but does avoid device reboot; forced app close doesn’t seem to have any resetting effect. The app functionality seems to have not been updated in quite while, not even any bugs fixes.. of which there are quite a few basic ones that could be done fairly easily; all updates seems to be catalogue related.
Basic video actions like jump forward 10secs takes 2 secs to action during which time there is no indication of press success; fortunately it does stack actions so you can triple click it for a 30sec jump albeit you need to wait 3-5secs to see at where you’ve jumped to. Skip intro and recap options quite often misses ie only jumps half way of jumps too far. Almost all interface actions are quite slow; as in 2010 app slow. There is no playback speed adjustment unlike other popular streaming services.
