The only wallet for Ethereum

What a fantastic product. I’ve been all about hardware wallets for the longest time, but you unavoidably sacrifice usability for security (wallet at home means no ability to make a quick transaction if the need arises). The core Argent product is so good, with some really novel ideas, which to my mind render the need for a hardware wallet somewhat obsolete (at least for Ethereum and associated tokens). Being able to use my existing hardware wallet as a Guardian is really neat though.

Five stars on this basis but I have some ideas for the future... on the basis this will for many people be their gateway to crypto I wonder if a curated news section might be a good idea. I think the price charts could do with some further development. And not one for Argent to solve, but crikey transaction fees on the Ethereum network don’t half add up quickly! Roll on RadixDLT or ETH 2.0.

Finally, and I understand all the reasons why this might not be somewhere the Argent team might not want to go, but I’d love to be able to hold my BTC assets on a wallet as thoughtfully designed as this...

Good, but needs more features

Great security and easy to use, but needs much better features particularly in the graph department. It’s not possible to view a graph of your portfolio, and the current graphs on token prices just aren’t that good, only being able to view 1 day, week and month. And as a personal preference, I don’t really like graphs being smoothed out. Apps like coinbase and zerion get this down very well.

Other than that it’s great, I love that i’m in control of everything and that it’s all on-chain. Will be much more usable once eth2 is fully implemented

Disappointed

I am quite disappointed with this app. I normally don’t do reviews but I’m so annoyed with how app that I felt it appropriate to warn other people off. The fees to deposit money are quite high but I thought that I would put in £23 (the money being £20). With network fees and other fees the cost was circa £30.

Once in the app I quickly found that I would lose most of this money through network fees and there is actually not much I can do with it. On top of that you can not withdraw it out. Now I have money stuck in an account that cannot be used. Had I been warned of this I would have deleted this app and not pursued it.

I welcome support from the developers to help show me how I can utilise this app for its intended purpose or remove my money without losing it all in the process. Very disappointed and frustrated with this. I have written off the money already as I’m not hopeful.

Hi,
We understand the disappointment, unfortunately Ethereum network fees are at a all time high. Argent never profits from those fees. You would need to wait for a time when Ethereum is less congested before moving those funds. We are working on implementing Etherum layer 2 scaling solutions this year that should help lower gas costs significantly.
