Superb : It’s what I would have built

When I retired in June 2023 had an idea of building an app which plotted my travels using the information from photos I’d taken along the way.

Today (Feb 2024) I began researching what I needed to make the idea real.

Instead I found this app. It’s precisely the features I had in mind.

Brilliant.

And although I hit a bug, I contacted the developer who replied in quick time and now has a new version coming out with the fix included.

So good I immediately paid for the unlimited full pro version. Happy to reward the developer.

Interesting, not amazing

Asks you to select photos to place on the map and then traces a route between each place, based on whether you say you walked or drove. Strangely does not include the 1st photo you select, which appears to be completely ignored. Another weird thing is that you cannot add/remove photos in the trip after it is created. In any case, that is the extent of the functionality. Feels a little limited and manual where you have to specify the name of the trip and select all the relevant photos. I would expect at least a default for the trip name, based on starting/ending location and date/time. It would also be nice to get a few parameters from the photo, such as altitude and EXIF data. Even better if you could select a single photo and let the app pick the rest, based on location and date.
