Best podcasting app
I've been a loyal user of the apple podcast app for years even when they completely ruined it by trying to make it look like an old tape player. But recently I've started looking at the competition and Overcast is by far the best out there, it feels like it's designed by someone who actually listens to and enjoys podcasts. There are lots of useful extras like increasing the speed by removing silent gaps rather than making the people sound like chipmunks! It's a great app, beautifully and cleverly designed, easy to use and a pleasure to interact with. Can't recommend this enough, especially to people like me who were trusting that the iOS podcast app was keeping up and innovating in the field of podcasts. This app is what the iOS version should be like, but they've fallen so far behind that it's almost a joke. Do yourself a favour, download this app and test it out with one or two of your favourite podcasts, you'll never look back
One of the best podcast apps out there
I've been using the new version of the app (a complete rewrite of the app) extensively and it is, as ever, excellent from a podcast listening experience with features that make podcasts an actively better experience.
The new design of course requires an adjustment in behaviour, and there have been bugs and regressions in some features. That being said, the new foundation is clearly allowing the developer to rapidly address concerns (3 updates within the space of two weeks) and I have every confidence they will iron out these issues.
