Theme music is 💯

The theme music of this game is super lovely. Feels magical and almost fairy like. In order to merge you must collect items from another gameplay - fairly basic and easy. No ads in between games so far. I sometimes stay in the main page just to listen to the music hahaha.

Could be 5 stars but..

Good: Graphics and music are beautiful. No stamina to limit gameplay (wildlife is plentiful after the initial phase so it doesn’t affect much). No annoying popup ads either.

Minus 3 stars:

1) Forced to spend premium currency. Some quests cannot be skipped and to progress, gems are needed ranging from 10 to over 100 each time. Some event quests need over 1000 gems.

2) Recent update removed the method of earning gems and replaced it with something that is rng based (with lesser amount earned, if at all). Combine this with point (1).

3) Missing QoL. Instead of improving game experience, many updates have made it worse/not resolved some bugs. Things that cause players to ‘accidentally’ spend gems, nectar disappearing, buggy placement of items etc.

4) Weekend events are monotonous and time consuming (over 12hours active play).

5) Puzzles are luck based with only 5 lives at 30mins regeneration and many stages have an almost impossible move limit. On an unlucky streak, we get stuck on a puzzle for days.

6) New merge chains are added but there is no addition to land plots, nor even a storage to keep unused items. Furthermore, one of the chain is merely decorative. When land is already scarce, it’s really ironic for game dev to encourage players to “decorate your garden” since said decorations are just taking up precious working space. It used to be a fun challenge to balance land and merging up the chain, but this is making the game unbalanced.

The game play is straight forward and I basically played to see who are the characters being discovered and whether Basil will make his sinister appearance. Also finding out what is the highest level of item that can be merged was a draw. However, I hit a block at Level 19 as one of the quest item was to tap a gift baskets and that requires diamonds which I will not pay for. I don’t mind if the game is full of ads but I do draw the line on paying for such stuff just to continue playing.

Please keep in mind that you can find more gems in the game by opening Garden Supplies (you can find your current Supplies in the game's Menu and collect more by winning Puzzle levels), completing certain Special Events or sometimes also for winning Puzzle Levels. If you have any precious gems in your Garden, it's always a good idea to merge them up before tapping to claim them!
