Amazon Fire TV 4+

I do find this app handy for when I can’t find the remote, but it doesn’t seem to connect when trailers play or when trying to click off a programme before it automatically plays the next episode (on Netflix). It’s so frustrating. No problems with connecting when I’m browsing or during a programme/film, only when it ends. This needs to be fixed for a higher rating. EDIT: this problem was fixed! Or at least I haven’t had this problem for about a week maybe two so I’ve noticed improvements... but since last night the app won’t connect at all. Tried checking for updates, tried restarting my phone... not working! Hopefully it’s just an update that’s not been made available yet making it mess around. I’ll keep checking for updates and will edit review if/when it’s working again.

I love this app because we lost our remote a few weeks ago and we’re finally able to control our TV again for free.

Though, over the past couple weeks, we’ve found that it’s taking ten minutes or so to connect compared to how it used to connect almost immediately. I am not sure if this is a problem on your end or ours, but nothing has changed in our household, so I can only assume it’s the app?

Otherwise, the app is incredibly helpful and certainly worth the download. Especially if you have lost your remote and cannot or do not want to buy another.

This app used to be brilliant, however I opened the Fire TV remote app for the first time since the latest update and I’m outraged. Your latest update has made the Fire TV remote app permanently in portrait orientation, which is now impossible for me to use because of my disability.
I’m paralysed from the neck down (tetraplegic) and cannot hold my iPad, and have to have it fixed on a bracket to my wheelchair and bed in landscape orientation. I cannot turn it around because of my paralysis and the bracket only works in landscape. I am pretty certain there are many more people in my position that you have now left frustrated by this latest ridiculous update restriction. Please be more inclusive and allow different orientations for the app, I beg you, I have no other Control for my Fire TV now.
