Connection Failed: failed to resume app

This should be great. I can play PC games on my iPad, which is mind blowing. Except for that it only works sometimes, I can’t play in native resolutions to the iPad, and I can’t save any games or do anything else that requires entering text.

The biggest annoyance is the continual “Connection Failed: failed to resume app” messages when trying to connect to the PC. The only solution seems to be to get up from bed, or wherever else I might be, and go downstairs to reboot the PC. Which obviously isn’t much of a solution if I’m out of the house.

The iOS version is lacking the keyboard that’s apparently found in other versions of the app, so it’s impossible to name save game files, or proceed through a character generator, or do anything else that requires text entry. I guess there’s the option of using a virtual controller instead of the mouse, but who wants to do that for the non-twitch based strategy games and CRPGs that are well suited to streaming? I could try and switch control scheme for saving, but that would mean disconnection, and who’s to say whether it would be possible to reconnect.

Finally, it really needs to be able to stream in 4:3 resolutions native to the iPad. Losing a third of the screen to letterboxing is pretty frustrating when you’re already playing a game designed for a much larger screen.

Godsent

Ever since finding out this program I’ve had it installed across my devices. Works great on steam deck, laptops and IOS.

Never expected it to work when initially installing it never-mind at flawless feats if you got the right hardware and setup. The only time where I noticed a struggle was with image compression being visible on fast pace racing games on large displays.

Pair this with a WOL / Magic Packet app to boot your pc from your phone and the xbox one s/x bluetooth controller and you’re golden
